I found a real good article from Jeff Sayre about decentralized Semantic Microblogging. He describes a concept were you are the owner of your data and the microblogging service. I like that idea as it helps to avoid data silos and the requirement to sign up for different services to get in contact with all your friends and business partners. At the same time you did not have to give away your personal data.
