iPhone: Call and SMS blocker/blacklist

It’s hard to believe but there seems to be no configuration or app available to handle black lists to block unwanted calls or SMS on an iPhone that is not jailbroken.

That is a functionality that you could get for most smartphones and I don’t know why that is not possible for the iPhone. For example MCleaner or iBlackList could filter calls and SMS but the apps work only when you jailbreak the iPhone. It seems like Apple did not give an approval for an application like that. Some apps at iTunes are able to stop telemarketers by using general spam lists for the US market – but nothing more than that.

Uploading and using a silent ringtone is the only  workaround with firmware 3.x. But the phone is ringing without sound and if you switch to silent mode it starts to vibrate.
An approval for an additional app or a feature in a new firmware release would be highly appreciated. We will have to wait and see…
